What is hosting?

A "host," when talking in terms of the Web, is a computer that stores your web-site and sends it to people who are surfing the web using Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari or any of the other browsers.

There are many options when it comes to hosting and it completely depends on what your needs are. Generally-speaking, small business owners do not need Gigabytes and Terrabytes of storage - in fact, you would have to really put up a good fight to use 30 Megabytes.

We have found that 100 Megabytes per web-site is sufficient for most of our clients and we offer a basic package that includes exactly that. However, should you need more, you are welcome to contact us to set up a custom package designed to suit your needs.

Generally-speaking, hosting is quite cheap when the host resides overseas. However, if your target market is local, we have found that it is better to ensure that your host is local as well - it may affect your search engine rankings in Google, for instance.

Our basic Linux hosting package, at R18 per month, includes the following:

  • 10 potential sub-domains
  • 3 potential parked domains

  • PHP and CGI scripting support
  • cPanel administration - giving you the control you need
